Not in the pit, not ever

The safety of everyone at Good Things is our number one priority. This year, we’ve introduced a range of new measures to help keep you safe and supported. These include:

  • Increased security
  • Increased police presence
  • Trained medical and counselling services on-site
  • Dedicated safe spaces
  • Improved incident reporting procedures
  • Additional training for all on-site staff and volunteers
  • Additional safety signage, messaging and campaigning

If you’re in an unsafe or inappropriate situation — or if you see someone who needs help — report it immediately by calling or texting  0427 055 163 (Brisbane), visiting the First Aid area, speaking to staff, security or police, or using the chat function in the Good Things app. We take every report seriously.

Harassment, violence, misconduct, abuse or assault of any kind is never ok. We have a zero-tolerance policy that will see offenders removed from the festival or criminally charged. Not in the pit, not ever.

When you enter, exit or move around the festival, you’ll need to follow any reasonable request or instruction from event security. They’re there to keep everyone safe.

Our Commitment to Safety

Serious Response to Reports

Good Things is committed to delivering a safe environment for attendees, staff and performers - every report of sexual and/or gender based assault, or harassment of any kind is taken seriously.

This is backed by clear policies, procedures, and thorough staff training. Our response protocols put victim-survivors first and ensure we work closely with authorities.

Safe Space

A dedicated Safe Space is located near the First Aid area for attendees to get help, seek refuge or report incidents in a confidential and supportive environment. It’s staffed by a registered nurse who has emergency department experience.

Safety Hotline

You can call or text our Safety Hotline 0427 055 163 (Brisbane) any time to report an incident or ask for help. It’s monitored before, after and during the festival by trained festival staff.

Emergency Chat Feature

The Good Things app has an Emergency Chat Function that can connect you directly to our emergency team. It operates through a secure, closed Wi-Fi network dedicated exclusively to emergency communications. It has a strobe alert feature that can activate your phone's flashlight and vibration to alert nearby staff and security to provide a quick response if you need immediate assistance.

Other Safety Services

An abundance of trained security personnel, festival staff and volunteers, plus Police, Ambulance, First Aid and Working With Children Check-accredited staff are all on-site to support you and help keep everyone safe.
